Many people do not know about that what is happening in Cairo at the moment. Supporters of the opposition were unsatisfied with the Egyptian government under the direction of President Mubarak. Hence, people went on the streets to protest against the government. At the beginning the protest were peacefully but now they are anxiously, in short street battles and a lot of casualties. I will now present some pictures and a short overview about the situation. :
The situation on the Tahrir-Place in Cairo escalates. Bloody street battles between opponents and supporters of Egypt’s president Mubarak. Foreign journalists do also live dangerously.
The opponents of President M
ubarak accused him, disbursed goon squads and policemen in plainclothes, to fight against them. While the riots, demonstrators were throwing with stones and self-made Molotov cocktails.
Meanwhile, the military is trying to get the situation under control. Soldiers go in position in front of the Tahrir-Place.
