If the Egyptian government topples, what will happen to Israel? Egypt is the only allies of Israel. The Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been caring for the last 30 years for the stability between the nations in the Mideast region. Without Mubarak, Netanjahu, the president of Israel, would be alone in that political explosive area.
Jordan, besides Egypt, the only nation in the Mideast which signed the peace treaty with Israel, sees the right-wing government of Israel critically. King Abdullah II. has refused an appointment for the last two years with Netanjahu.
Former allies #3 of Israel, Turkey, started under Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan anti israeli foreign policy. Crucial for that was an air attack against Gaza in the end of 2009 together with an attack against the Gaza-flotilla with numerous Turkish activists on board. The Turkish foreign policy considers now countries such as Syria or Iran, which are enemies of Egypt.
Furthermore, Israel feels abandon by the United States. Due to Obama’s utterance, an orderly transition to Cairo, Israel’s worry is that the United States does not see the end of the Mubarak era under a regional stability aspect.
I am very excited about what will happen next in the Mideast region respectively in Egypt. Stay tuned…
